Richmond Districtreal estate

The Richmond District stretches west from Arguello Boulevard to the Pacific, between the Presidio and Lincoln Park to the north and Golden Gate Park to the south. It is usually described in three parts: the Inner, Central and Outer Richmond.

Clement Street and Geary Boulevard are the main commercial streets, known for one of the city's widest choices of restaurants, bakeries and markets, with many Chinese, Russian and other cuisines. At the western edge, the coastal trails of Lands End lead past the ruins of the Sutro Baths to Ocean Beach.

What you'll find here

Mostly single-family homes and two- and three-unit buildings, many built in the first half of the twentieth century, along with apartment buildings closer to Geary. Homes tend to be on flatter, regular blocks, and many have garages.

Before you buy

Weather changes as you go west: the Outer Richmond is more often in the fog than the Inner Richmond. Visit at different times of day before you decide where on the map you want to be.
