Mission Doloresreal estate

Dolores Park, the city's oldest building and Valencia Street's restaurants — with flats, condominiums and grand Victorians.

Living inMission Dolores.

Mission Dolores takes its name from Mission San Francisco de Asís — known as Mission Dolores — founded in 1776. Its adobe chapel, completed in 1791, is the oldest surviving building in San Francisco.

A few blocks south, Mission Dolores Park rises up the hillside, with wide views over downtown. On sunny weekends it is one of the busiest parks in the city. Valencia Street, to the east, is lined with restaurants, cafés and shops, and the J Church streetcar runs along the park's western edge; the 16th Street BART station is a short walk away.

What you'll find here

Grand Victorians and Edwardians — many divided into flats and condominiums — along with newer condominium buildings. Homes facing or near the park, and those with downtown views, are the most sought-after.

Before you buy

As elsewhere in central San Francisco, many smaller buildings are owned as condominiums or tenancy-in-common (TIC) interests. Ownership type affects financing and resale, so understand it early.
